PNP seizes 603 firearms from Oplan Katok

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga - Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) carried out an intensified Revitalized Katok campaign from January 12 to March 3, 2025, which led to the seizure of 603 firearms.

In order to prevent election-related violence, this preemptive operation targets unsecured guns that endanger public safety.

PNP reported that Nueva Ecija had the highest number of firearm surrenders, with 230 firearms willingly turned up.

Among the firearms seized were 599 small arms and four large weapons.

PRO3 Director PBGen Jean Fajardo stressed the importance of the campaign and the need to keep illicit firearms off the streets in order to secure peaceful elections.

She called on the people to support the campaign by reporting any unusual weaponry or activities in their communities.

The Revitalized Katok program is part of the Philippine National Police's broader strategy to lessen violence in Central Luzon during elections.

Authorities continue to call on residents to cooperate, emphasizing that maintaining peace and security during the next elections depends on community vigilance.
