DOT rolls out strategies to boost C. Luzon tourism

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga - Through strategic measures targeted at increasing the region's appeal, the Department of Tourism (DOT) is driving the expansion of tourism in Central Luzon.

DOT Regional Director Richard Daenos stressed the significance of the Regional Tourism Development Plan (RTDP), which connects local and national tourism initiatives, during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas conference. Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Zambales, Pampanga, Bataan, Bulacan, and Olongapo City have already started the RTDP rollout, and Tarlac will follow shortly.

By showcasing Central Luzon's many vacation spots, the DOT is reaching out to developing markets like India in an effort to draw in more foreign visitors.

Additionally, new tourism products are being developed, such as the Philippine Experience Program, which encourages immersive and cultural travel to Nueva Ecija and Aurora, and religion tourism for the Jubilee Year.

To finance and carry out these initiatives, the agency is also working with the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA).

The DOT will implement the Accreditation Inspection Monitoring System as part of its dedication to providing high-quality services to make sure tourist attractions adhere to strict guidelines.

In order to promote tourism through joint projects, it is also fortifying alliances with other governmental organizations and regional businesses.

More encouraging tales of development and change will be brought to Central Luzon through the revived tourist Recognition for Enterprises and Stakeholders (TRES) Awards, which will recognize those who make major contributions to the area's tourist industry.
