DPWH inaugurates P69.3-M Villa Aurora ecotourism project

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga - The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the P69.3 million Villa Aurora ecotourism project to boost sustainable tourism in Aurora.

In 2023, the project began offering eco-friendly lodging and amenities in an effort to draw in nature-loving visitors and strengthen the local economy.

In addition to typical amenities like water tanks, recycling bins, and a generator room, the property features eleven eco-friendly villas, a function hall, a chapel, a tribal hall, and a camping space.

Improved roads and footbridges make it simpler to reach Ubot Falls, where visitors can take advantage of off-road 4x4 trails, picturesque treks, and a hanging bridge.

Roderick Andal, the district engineer for DPWH Aurora, highlighted that the project fosters sustainable growth and produces jobs in addition to increasing tourism.

The Villa Aurora Eco-Tourism Project is expected to make Barangay Villa a premier ecotourism destination with improved amenities and an emphasis on environmental preservation.
