Palace Leaves Fate of Flood Control Probe to ICI
Malacañang said it will leave it up to the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) to decide whether to continue or conclude its investigation into alleged anomalies in flood control projects.
The Palace made the statement when asked about the status of the commission’s probe.
Palace Press Officer Atty. Claire Castro said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. recognizes the ICI as an independent body, stressing that whatever decision it makes regarding its work will be respected by the administration.
Castro added that the executive branch is ready to support the commission if it chooses to proceed with the investigation.
The Palace also said it would be better if the ICI could submit a complete report, which could then serve as the basis for discussions on the next steps and possible actions.
