Marcos urges Congress to prioritize Key Reform Bills — Palace

Palace Press Officer Usec. Claire Castro announced that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has called on Congress to give priority to four major proposed legislative measures aimed at strengthening governance, transparency, and political reform.

The priority bills are:

  • Anti-Dynasty Bill

  • Independent People's Commission Act

  • Party-List System Reform Act

  • Citizens Access and Disclosure of Expenditures for National Accountability (CADENA) Act, which seeks to institutionalize transparency and accountability in public finance

During a LEDAC meeting held Tuesday morning, President Marcos instructed both chambers of Congress to study the bills closely and expedite their passage.

Among those present were Senate President Vicente Sotto III, House Speaker Faustino Dy III, Majority Leader Sandro Marcos, and other congressional leaders.

The LEDAC also finalized timelines for the approval of the General Appropriations Bill and the submission of the enrolled bill for the President’s signature.
