Bulacan solons OK Sara’s impeachment

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan - All seven district representatives from the province of Bulacan voted in favor of the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte.

On February 5, the House of Representatives reached a historic decision, impeaching Duterte with an overwhelming 215 votes.

The charges against her include corruption, conspiring to assassinate President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., extrajudicial killings, and inciting public unrest and revolt.

The lawmakers from Bulacan who supported the impeachment were Danilo Domingo of the 1st District, Augustina Dominique "Tina" Pancho of the 2nd District, Lorna Silverio of the 3rd District, Linabelle Ruth Villarica of the 4th District, Ambrosio Cruz Jr. of the 5th District, Salvador Pleyto Sr. of the 6th District, and Florida "Rida" Robes of the Lone District of San Jose del Monte.

With the House's approval, the impeachment trial now moves to the Senate, which will serve as the tribunal.

Senate President Francis Escudero announced that proceedings will commence when Congress reconvenes on June 2, 2025, following the midterm elections.
