135 Kapampangan OFWs to receive 3.1M pesos in gov’t reintegration aid
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Over 135 Kapampangan Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) are set to receive financial aid totaling P3.1 million under a government reintegration program.
Under its Livelihood Program for OFWs Reintegration (LPOR), the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) will give returning OFWs P10,000 to P50,000 monetary support to enable them to launch small companies or start over after working overseas.
This initiative, backed by the provincial government, aims to create sustainable income opportunities for OFWs transitioning back to local employment.
To strengthen support for OFWs, the Pampanga provincial government has partnered with the DMW, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
The partnership provides training, legal support, OFW Help Desks, and stronger protections against illegal recruitment and human trafficking.
