Bataan welcomes new bishop

CITY OF BALANGA, Bataan - The Cathedral Shrine Parish of St. Joseph hosted an installation ceremony to formally welcome Most Reverend Rufino C. Sescon, Jr. as the next bishop of the Diocese of Balanga.

He urged the populace, local authorities, and religious organizations to come together for the advancement, justice, and peace of the province during his inaugural Mass.

Bishop Sescon emphasized that being patriotic is also a sign of being God-fearing and asked everyone to cooperate for the common good.

“I will be your partner in promoting the common good, justice, and full development,” he said.

Government officials, including Governor Jose Enrique Garcia 3rd, Vice Governor Cris Garcia, and several district representatives, graced the ceremony.

Archbishop Charles John Brown, the Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, oversaw the installation, together with priests and bishops from several dioceses.
