Bulacan residents to benefit from tax amnesty under new law
CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – The Provincial Government of Bulacan launched its tax amnesty program under Republic Act No. 12001, also known as the Real Property Valuation and Assessment Reform Act (RPVARA).
The initiative allows property owners to pay only their original tax liabilities, with all accumulated interest and penalties waived.
Starting in the second quarter of 2024, the tax amnesty will apply to property tax arrears for both the Basic Tax and Special Education Fund (SEF).
As part of the amnesty, the provincial government will remove interest and penalties accrued on these taxes, allowing property owners to settle their dues without penalties.
The program will run from January 2, 2025 to June 5, 2025, and is seen as a step towards improving tax collection efficiency by providing financial relief to residents who may be struggling with outstanding property tax liabilities.
Residents are encouraged to contact the provincial tax office or visit local government websites for information on how to apply for tax amnesty. The provincial government hopes that the program will foster greater civic responsibility and contribute to the local economy's recovery.
