Co Out, Quimbo In: Leadership Change in House Appropriations Committee

MANILA, Philippines – Following the resignation of Quimbo named as Ako Bicol Party-list Representative Zaldy Co, Marikina 2nd District Representative Stella Luz Quimbo has been appointed as the acting chair of the House Committee on Appropriations.

Compliant with the House of Representatives rules on vacancy and succession, the highest-ranking vice-chairperson or the next member in the committee list–currently Quimbo–assumes the duties of the chairperson until a permanent replacement is chosen.

As the senior vice-chairperson of the Committee, Quimbo will perform the functions of Co, who recently retired due to health reasons.

While waiting for the permanent replacement for the chairperson position, Quimbo will oversee the preparation and review of the national budget.
