Aquino Museum reopens
TARLAC CITY, Tarlac - Just in time for the 39th anniversary of the EDSA Revolution, the Aquino Center and Museum in Tarlac has reopened following a two-year refurbishment.
With the new theme "Pamana nina Ninoy, Cory, at Noynoy: Laban para sa Kalayaan, Demokrasya, at Dangal ng Bayan" (The Legacy of Ninoy, Cory, and Noynoy: A Fight for Freedom, Democracy, and National Dignity), the museum, which honors the legacies of former President Corazon "Cory" Aquino, her late husband, former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., and their son, former President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III.
PNoy: Filipino, a photobook that documents significant events from Noynoy Aquino's administration, was released concurrently with the reopening.
The renovated museum features enhanced displays on important historical events, including as the 1987 Constitution and Cory Aquino's post-presidential nation-building initiatives.
A new wing honoring Noynoy Aquino's tenure in office is also open for visitors to explore, emphasizing his efforts to advance democracy, defend Philippine rights in the West Philippine Sea, and boost the country's economy.
Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation President Raphael Lopa stressed that the museum's reopening coincides with a period of challenges to democracy and truth.
The Aquino Museum will start offering guided tours.
