DLSU, UnionBank partner for tech advancement
MANILA, Philippines - De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde and UnionBank of the Philippines have forged a partnership to aid young Filipino entrepreneurs in this modern digital era.
The Innovation Garage Project through the "UBPXcellerator" program is a part of UnionBank's "Tech Up Pilipinas" campaign that aims to prepare students with the skills and education for technological growth and digital transformation.
The program under the memorandum of understanding signed by Benilde President Br. Edmundo Fernandez and UnionBank President and CEO Edwin Bautista aim to provide mentorship opportunities, training sessions, and seminars conducted by professionals in the field.
The program provides opportunities including a chance to establish a career with UnionBank in the future while teaching learners the intricacies of cutting-edge subjects like data science and artificial intelligence. The partnership expands on their 2018 campaign, which was sparked by the bank's involvement in the Singapore Fintech Festival.
Located at Atrium@Benilde, the Innovation Garage provides a venue for research projects, internships, and interactive education while supporting learning pathways, course offerings, and curriculum improvement within the school which helps establish the Nation as a center for global technology with its innovations and education.
Bautista headed the ribbon-cutting ceremony and Benilde Vice Chancellor Angelo Marco Lacson formally launched the project. The event, which executives from both organizations sponsored, emphasized their common goal of giving the next generation the skills they need to take the lead in a rapidly changing technology environment.
