Vintage Bomb Unearthed Inside UP Campus

A vintage bomb was discovered inside the University of the Philippines Diliman campus in Quezon City on Tuesday morning, authorities said.

According to a report from the Anonas Police Station (PS-9) of the Quezon City Police District, the explosive device was unearthed at around 11:15 a.m. in front of the Institute of Chemistry Teaching Building in Barangay UP Campus.

Initial investigation showed that a worker identified only as alias “Bryan,” 26, a resident of Montalban, Rizal, was digging using a shovel when he noticed the object, which turned out to be a bomb.

He immediately informed UP police, who in turn coordinated with PS-9 and the QCPD Explosive Ordnance Division.

Personnel from the Explosive Ordnance Division carried out safety procedures and removed the vintage bomb from the site for proper custody and disposal.
