Sandiganbayan Denies Revilla’s Bid for Transfer to Camp Crame

The Sandiganbayan has denied former senator Bong Revilla’s request to be transferred from the New Quezon City Jail in Payatas to the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame, where he sought to be detained while facing a malversation case linked to alleged ghost flood control projects in Bulacan.

The court’s Third Division also rejected Revilla’s motion to quash the charge sheet filed against him. His camp’s appeal to return the case to the Office of the Ombudsman for reinvestigation was likewise dismissed.

In a 30-page resolution released on Wednesday, the anti-graft court stated that the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory on Payatas Road and the Female Dormitory at Camp Tomas Karingal in Barangay Sikatuna Village, Quezon City, have been designated as detention facilities for individuals charged in connection with the flood control controversy.

The court noted that both facilities have adequate conditions to accommodate the expected number of suspects facing charges related to the alleged ghost projects. The QC Jail Male Dormitory in Payatas was also cited as the nearest Bureau of Jail Management and Penology facility to the Sandiganbayan.

“The court visited the jail facilities where the accused are being detained on January 23, 2026. As to the Male Dormitory, the court is convinced that the jail’s security measures are sufficient for the safekeeping of Revilla and the other accused,” ayon sa Sandiganbayan.

The court also brushed aside Revilla’s claim that he should be transferred due to alleged harassment and threats to his life.
