NBI, DA raid Bulacan warehouse over alleged rice repackaging scheme

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan - The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Department of Agriculture (DA) raided a rice warehouse in Bocaue, Bulacan after discovering an alleged scheme of mixing old rice with fresh stocks.

Authorities reported that the old rice was repackaged into new sacks to make it appear fresh before being sold in the market.

The officials also warned that such fraudulent practices could affect rice quality and pose potential health risks to consumers.

Investigations are ongoing to hold those accountable and ensure consumer protection against deceptive trade practices.
