Marcos confirms passport of ex-Rep. Zaldy Co has been cancelled
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced on Wednesday that the passport of former Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co has officially been cancelled.
In a video report shared on his social media pages, Marcos stated: “I can report to you that Zaldy Co’s passport has been cancelled.”
He added that he has ordered the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Philippine National Police to work closely with Philippine embassies abroad to ensure Co cannot evade authorities. “That’s why I have instructed the Department of Foreign Affairs, as well as the PNP, to coordinate with our embassies in various countries to ensure that the person we are pursuing cannot hide there. And if he does go there, he will be reported to us so that we can bring him back to the Philippines,” Marcos said.
The President announced last November 21 that warrants of arrest had been issued for Co and 17 others over alleged irregularities linked to flood control projects.
Co was implicated after former Bulacan district and assistant engineers claimed he had a role in budget insertions for flood control initiatives, which reportedly surged to around P35 billion from 2022 to 2025.
