DOJ Summons Estrada, Revilla for Preliminary Probe on Flood Control Plunder Case

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has summoned Senator Jinggoy Estrada and former Senator Bong Revilla for a scheduled preliminary investigation in connection with plunder complaints linked to alleged anomalies in flood control projects.

DOJ spokesperson Polo Martinez said in a statement that subpoenas were issued to the respondents last Friday.

“Subpoenas issued and waiting to complete receiving copies for their service to respondents,” Martinez said.

The preliminary investigation is set for February 2 and 12, during which Estrada and Revilla are expected to appear before the DOJ.

Former Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Manuel Bonoan is also listed as a respondent in the plunder complaint filed by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

The complaint covers a series of transactions across multiple projects and localities connected to the alleged irregularities, rather than a single project or location.
