Bulacan records highest dengue deaths in Central Luzon, DOH reports

MANILA, Philippines - According to the Department of Health (DOH) Central Luzon, Bulacan had seven dengue-related deaths between January 1 and February 15, making it the province with the most dengue-related deaths in the region this year.

In the same period, Nueva Ecija reported four deaths, Pampanga with two, and both Bataan and Tarlac reported one each.

In terms of confirmed dengue cases, Pampanga led with 938 cases, followed by Bulacan with 856, Nueva Ecija with 347, and Tarlac with 342. Other provinces also reported cases wherein, Aurora with 144 cases, Bataan with 111, and Zambales with 42.

Additionally, Bulacan had the highest number of suspected dengue cases, totaling 1,888 during the said period.

Other provinces reported suspected cases as follows: Pampanga with 786, Nueva Ecija with 637, Tarlac with 363, Bataan with 230, Angeles City with 95, Zambales with 84, Olongapo City with 82, and Aurora with 49.

The DOH continues to monitor the situation and urges the public to take preventive measures against dengue, especially during the rainy season when mosquito breeding increases.
