BBM, Duterte satisfaction ratings drop

MANILA, Philippines – The net satisfaction ratings of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. and Vice-President Sara Duterte have significantly dropped, according to a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey conducted from December 12 to 18, 2024.

Marcos’ net rating plunged to a “moderate” +19, a 13-point decrease from the “good” +32 recorded in September 2024. Despite this decline, 51% of the respondents expressed satisfaction with his performance, while 32% were dissatisfied.

Similarly, in a Pulse Asia survey from November 26 to December 3, 2024, Marcos’ approval rating dropped to 48%, down from 50% in September. His disapproval rating increased to 25% from 21% over the same period.

Meanwhile, Duterte’s rating had a similar trend with her net satisfaction score falling to +21 last December. Her approval rating dropped to 63% in November, a decrease from her 67% rating in September, while her disapproval rating rose from 11% to 15%.

Other key officials had similar falling rates.

Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri's satisfaction rating fell to 50% in November, down from 53% in September, while disapproval increased from 14% to 16%.

House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez's approval rating fell to 44% from 49%, while his disapproval rating increased to 19% from 15%.

Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo's popularity rating dropped to 38% from 42%, while dissatisfaction rose to 18% from 16%.

The SWS survey was conducted nationwide with 2,160 adults participating in a face-to-face interview.
