Renowned jewelry designer, 'Bling Empire' star Lynn Ban dies at 51

MANILA, Philippines - Netflix's Bling Empire: New York actress and jewelry designer Lynn Ban, passed away on Monday at the age of 51 following brain surgery after a ski accident that occurred during a family trip in Aspen, Colorado.

Her son Sebastian revealed the devastating news on her Instagram account on January 22 along with his heartfelt tribute and treasured pictures of their time together. 

“My [mom] passed away on Monday. I know she wanted to share her journey after her accident and brain surgery, so I thought she would appreciate one last post sharing the news to people who supported her,” Sebastian penned in a post as he described Lynn as his "best friend" and "the best mother," vowing to honor her memory and celebrate her life.

The news sparked an outpouring of grief from fans and celebrity friends. Rihanna called Lynn a "fairy godmother" who brought joy to many, while co-star Dorothy Wang remembered her as a "true badass" who cherished her family above all. TV personality Michelle Visage and countless others expressed their sorrow over the loss of a woman who lit up every room she entered.

Lynn Ban, whose designs were worn by icons like Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Lady Gaga, spent over 25 years in the fashion world, gracing the pages of Harper’s Bazaar, ELLE, and V Magazine. Despite her tragic passing, Lynn’s legacy as a trailblazer in the fashion industry and a devoted family woman will forever be remembered.
