Kim Soo-hyun caught in controversy: agency denies secret romance allegations with late actress Kim Sae-ron
In a recent turn of events, South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun has found himself at the center of controversy following allegations made by a woman claiming to be the aunt of the late actress Kim Sae-ron.
The woman asserted that Soo-hyun, had been in a six-year relationship with Sae-ron, which purportedly began when she was just 15. These claims were further fueled by leaked photos shared by media outlets such as Dispatch and Garosero Research Institute, which quickly circulated on social media.
Additionally, the woman accused GoldMedalist—the agency representing both actors at different times, of financial misconduct and failing to support Sae-ron during her 2022 DUI scandal.
In response, GoldMedalist firmly denied these allegations, labeling them as "clearly false" and expressing intentions to pursue "the strongest legal action" against those spreading such rumors wherein, the agency announced plans to release a "clear and substantiated position" regarding the matter next week, aiming to address the "baseless rumors" and prevent further speculation.
Despite the controversy, production for Soo-hyun's upcoming K-drama "Knock-Off," co-starring Jo Bo-ah, is proceeding as scheduled, according to Disney+ Korea.
Kim Soo-hyun is renowned for his roles in popular series such as "Dream High," "It's Okay to Not Be Okay," and "My Love from the Star." Meanwhile, Kim Sae-ron, known for her performances in "The Man from Nowhere" and "A Brand New Life," tragically passed away on February 16 this year, with authorities ruling her death as suicide.
