Gloria Romero’s family denies viral post on alleged will, testament

MANILA, Philippines - Gloria Romero's family has called a social media post that went viral and claimed she left the majority of her savings to charitable causes fake news.

The post, which surfaced days after Romero’s passing on January 25 at age 91, alleged that a significant portion of her P750 million estate would fund a provincial high school in Pangasinan, while the rest would be divided among charities and her family.

Romero's family denied the allegations in an interview with entertainment journalist MJ Marfori, claiming that the post was deceptive and lacked any supporting evidence. They cautioned the public against trusting unconfirmed information that is making the rounds online. Additionally, the family stressed that they had not made any formal announcements about Romero's estate or any purported final will and testament.

As they continue to grieve, Romero’s family has asked for privacy and respect during this difficult time. The beloved actress, known for her iconic roles in Tanging Yaman, Magnifico, and Rainbow’s Sunset, was cremated on January 29 at Arlington Memorial Chapels & Crematory in Quezon City.
