Kapampangan Teen bags four medals in Global Science Olympiad

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga - By winning four gold at the StemCo 2025 International Competition in Singapore, 15-year-old Karl Vincent Agpalo of Minalin, Pampanga, has established himself on the global scene.

Students from all over the world are challenged in disciplines including science, math, physics, chemistry, and biology at this esteemed event. Agpalo demonstrated his remarkable skill in these subjects by winning silver medals in both biology and chemistry as well as a bronze in physics.

Since elementary school, Agpalo, a student at San Matias National High School in Santo Tomas, Pampanga, has demonstrated a strong interest in science. His passion and hard work have obviously paid off, as he stood out among competitors from 47 nations. He revealed, "Since I was a kid, I liked watching competitions... My forte is science; I really like science."

Given that it was their first time competing internationally, Agpalo's coach, Robert Alfaro, was quite proud of his team's achievements. Alfaro attributed this success to the school's strong scientific concentration, emphasizing that Agpalo's accomplishment not only honors their institution but also encourages other Kapampangans to strive for distinction in their chosen disciplines.
