Remulla: ICC warrant vs Bato real, Senator traced in Pampanga

Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla affirmed that the International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued a warrant of arrest for Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.

However, he declined to explain why the warrant has not yet been enforced.

“Mayroon (arrest warrant) pero may mga bagay ako na hindi puwede sabihin,” Remulla said.

He also confirmed that dela Rosa remains in the country.

“He’s supposed to be in Pampanga. We’re tracing his whereabouts once in a while,” he added.

Meanwhile, Dela Rosa’s legal counsel insisted that even if the ICC were to issue a warrant of arrest, it would not be automatically enforceable in the Philippines due to the country’s withdrawal from the Rome Statute.
