PITX raises parking fees following NAIA's rate hike

MANILA, Philippines – Parking at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) has become more expensive as new rates took effect on January 14.

The previous flat cost of ₱60 for cars was replaced with ₱60 for the first three hours and ₱15 for each extra hour. The flat charge for motorcycles has also increased from ₱50 to ₱60. Meanwhile, all vehicles now pay ₱300 for overnight parking—from 1:30 a.m. to 5 a.m., which doubles the former amount of ₱150 plus the regular parking fee. This change affected commuters and tourists who require longer stays.

The said increase at PITX follows a similar adjustment at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), which raised parking fees last October. The hike came after the San Miguel-led New NAIA Infrastructure Corporation took over operations, citing the need for enhanced facilities and services.

Although both transportation hubs highlight the need for improved infrastructure, commuters and tourists now have to deal with higher prices, which emphasizes how crucial it is to adjust travel budgets accordingly.
