Over 300 Gas Stations Shut Amid Fuel Supply Strain

Fuel supply disruptions are beginning to hit the retail level, forcing more than 300 gas stations across the country to temporarily halt operations due to delayed or limited deliveries.

As of March 30, authorities recorded 365 stations closed nationwide out of over 14,000 monitored sites. While some outlets have resumed operations after receiving new supply, others continue to run dry as delivery schedules remain inconsistent. The number of closures peaked days earlier, signaling the growing strain on fuel distribution.

Affected areas include parts of Northern Mindanao, the Cordillera region, and Davao, while several stations in Cagayan Valley, Mimaropa, and Western Visayas have already reopened after restocking.

Officials said the situation reflects ongoing global oil disruptions that are affecting both the volume and timing of fuel shipments. In response, authorities have intensified monitoring and filed cases against several stations for alleged violations such as hoarding and overpricing, as efforts continue to stabilize supply and prevent abuse.
