New multipurpose covered court boosts community activities in Angat, Bulacan

Residents of Angat, Bulacan's Barangay San Roque now have access to a brand-new multifunctional covered court that provides a secure and convenient space for community gatherings, sports, and disaster preparedness. The 540-square-meter building was constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) as part of a P9.9-million project to support emergency response and other local activities.

The structure's design ensures stability and longevity with its five bays, twelve concrete pedestals, and six steel trusses with arch-style roofing. George Santos, DPWH Bulacan 2nd District Engineer, claims that the covered court encourages social meetings, sports, and public welfare, particularly in times of emergency.

This project contributes to DPWH's continuous goal of developing community-centered, resilient public areas throughout Bulacan by supplying the necessary infrastructure that improves disaster response capacity and community ties.
