Philippines makes Michelin’s list of top foodie destinations for 2026
The Philippines has been named one of the world’s most exciting destinations for food lovers in 2026, according to the Michelin Guide.
In an announcement shared on Instagram, Michelin Guide inspectors included the Southeast Asian country in their list of must-visit culinary destinations for the coming year.
“Time to start planning your next foodie trip in 2026! Swipe for must-visit destinations where the food scene is about to buzz a little louder in 2026 – as recommended by our Inspectors!” the Michelin Guide said.
“The Philippines: Filipino food claims its global moment in Manila and Cebu,” it added.
The Philippines was listed alongside other food destinations such as Italy, Turkey, China, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Canada, and Poland.
Michelin Guide inspectors are anonymous evaluators who travel the world to assess restaurants based on strict criteria, including consistency, quality, and mastery of technique.
The recognition follows the launch of the inaugural Michelin Guide Philippines last October, which featured 108 restaurants and eateries across the country.
Makati-based, reservation-only restaurant Helm by Josh Boutwood earned the highest distinction with two Michelin Stars.
Meanwhile, eight restaurants received one Michelin Star each: Asador Alfonso, Celera, Gallery by Chele, Hapag, Inatô, Kasa Palma, Linamnam, and Toyo Eatery.
