DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon No Plans to Run in 2028

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon said he has no plans to run for any higher public office in the 2028 national elections.

According to Dizon, seeking an elected position is not part of his plans, as he does not consider himself a politician.

“I’ve said this repeatedly already, I am not a politician, trabahante lang ako. I am just an employee that has been working in and out of government for the last 28 years, that’s all I do,” Dizon said.

He explained that once his term as DPWH secretary ends, he intends to return to the private sector. Despite this, Dizon emphasized that he remains willing to serve if called upon to do so.

Dizon was initially appointed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as Secretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), where he received positive public feedback for his performance and management of the agency.

Following the controversy surrounding anomalous flood control projects, President Marcos designated Dizon to lead the DPWH, tasking him with cleaning up the agency and addressing issues related to corruption and accountability.
