GCash, Viamericas partner for fast North America-PH remittances

MANILA, Philippines - GCash, the Philippines' leading fintech platform, partnered with U.S.-based Viamericas to allow Filipinos in the U.S. and Canada to send money real time to GCash accounts in the Philippines.

This collaboration aims to provide fast and secure financial services to overseas Filipinos and their families back home.

GCash reports that approximately 81% of Filipinos hold a GCash account wherein, in August 2024, GCash's valuation reached $5 billion following additional funding from Ayala Corporation and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group.

Globe Telecom, GCash's parent company, has expressed interest in a potential initial public offering, contingent upon regulatory adjustments to the required public float.
